Fun in space

Working long hours, complete tasks lists with military precision might be enough for you to chuck your hope out of being an astronaut — still not to mention (ahem) having to poop in space. Despite risk their lives every day, the astronauts have fun in space, like swinging in the air without a risk or throwing your stuffs and fellow astronauts across a hatch — until they slam their head on the edge. :P

      Although NASA considers it impolitic to ask, it’s generally assumed the first two people to have sex in space were either Jan Davis and Mark Lee, a couple who got married just before their mission and practically used it as their honeymoon, The other was possibly Elena Kondakova and Valery Polyakov, who were the subject of rumors after their tour together on Mir, especially after they were caught flirting on camera. No Zero G sex tapes have yet surfaced, but it’s only a matter of time before they start filming pornos in orbit. Especially now that the space program is being privatized.

      It’s not worth it: In a new study that’s sure to make everyone’s world just a little darker, scientists have discovered that sex in space could lead to severe health problems and life-threatening illnesses—brain disease and cancer included.

      Specifically, the study wanted to look at how zero gravity would affect the reproduction process, and since sperm cells in plants are delivered to an egg with a “cylindrical tool” (i.e. love rod) just like in human baby-makin’, scientists are able to apply the results to our own reproductive process.

      In their words:

      Researchers already knew humans, animals and plants have evolved in response to Earth’s gravity and they are able to sense it. What we are still discovering is how the processes occurring within the cells of the human and plant bodies are affected by the more intense gravity, or hypergravity, that would be found on a large planet, or the microgravity that resembles the conditions on a space craft…

        Most of them are astrophysicists and/or PhDs. My guess is they are smart enough to use birth control while getting in on in space. Sex doesn’t have to be about making babies all the time.

    I am always fascinated by Zero Gravity in space. Its really a great fun, while hanging in the air.

      Warning science content: They aren’t in zero gravity but falling towards
      earth while traveling really fast, so fast they miss the Earth and go
      around and around. True zero gravity would be hard to find in our
      Universe. Everything is falling towards something else. It’s kind of like sky diving with no air resistance.

          yep. I think in the movie Apollo 13 they nosedived a plane to the earth to create the same effect

        It is true that gravity decreases with distance, so it is possible to be far away from a planet or star and feel less gravity. But that doesn’t account for the weightless feeling that astronauts experience in space. The reason that astronauts feel weightless actually has to do with their position compared to their spaceship. We feel weight on Earth because gravity is pulling us down, while the floor or ground stop us from falling. We are pressed against it. Any ship in orbit around the Earth is falling slowly to Earth. Since the ship and the astronauts are falling at the same speed, the astronauts don’t press against anything, so they feel weightless. -Google

            no, because when you are skydiving you are falling through the atmosphere creating resistance Something to push against, like the ground, to make you feel weight. But you can take an airplane up high in the sky and put the plane into a free-fall nose dive, then you fall at the same speed as the plane and the air inside, and therefor feel weightless.
